Seven Years Moving Freight the Right Way
Betavastro started small in Québec City and built an operation that now ships freight across Canada — without losing the accountability that got us here.
Where we came from and what we built
Betavastro was founded in 2017 by a small team of freight professionals who had spent years working inside large carriers and watching the same problems repeat: poor communication, opaque pricing, and handoffs that nobody owned. The founding idea was simple — build a logistics operation where every shipment has a named human accountable for it, and where technology handles the tracking so people can handle the exceptions. We started with two domestic lanes between Québec City and Montréal, and by 2020 we had expanded to full coast-to-coast coverage, an 18,000 sq ft warehousing facility, and a client base of over 120 active accounts spanning manufacturing, retail, and e-commerce. Today Betavastro employs 34 people across operations, sales, customs, and technology — a deliberately small team for the volume we move, because we believe lean and focused beats big and diffuse every time.
How we work — and where we draw the line
Our model is built around dedicated account management. Every client gets a single point of contact who understands their freight profile, seasonal patterns, and tolerance for risk. That person doesn't sit in a call centre — they're embedded in our operations floor in Québec City, looking at the same dashboards you see in your portal. We don't chase every opportunity. Betavastro focuses on B2B freight: commercial shippers moving regular volumes between fixed or semi-fixed origin and destination pairs. We're not a parcel courier for one-off consumer shipments, and we're not an asset-heavy carrier building our own rail or ocean infrastructure. We coordinate, optimize, and own the relationship while working with a vetted network of asset carriers and forwarders. If your freight is a one-time spot move with no ongoing volume, we'll help if we can — but we'll be honest that our model is calibrated for clients with repeating shipment patterns, where we can build route and rate efficiencies over time.

We send you a monthly digest of your freight data — transit times, exception rates, cost-per-unit trends — so you have numbers to work with, not just impressions.
Honest capacity limits
If a lane is congested or we're approaching capacity, we tell you before it affects your freight — not after. We'd rather manage expectations early than recover trust later.
